It’s time to say goodbye to 2023. And it’s time for my BestOf, looking back on the best and most memorable assignments of the year. In the past 12 months, I got to see many new places, and that’s exactly why this post is dedicated to my business trips (they are finally happening again). It all started in March in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, where I got to sit in a three-person booth for the first time. This assignment was closely followed by a supervisory board meeting in the enchanting German town of Rheda-Wiedenbrück with its pretty half-timbered houses. I got to feel a completely different vibe in Hamburg, where I interpreted a multi-day company workshop event on Leadership & Strategy. In autumn, I flew to sunny Izmir in Turkey, and after work I also got the chance to do bit of sightseeing and shopping at Kemeralti Bazaar. It was also exciting to translate for a delegation from Tanzania in Arnsberg Forest, where the impact of the bark beetle outbreak was clearly visible. The last business trip of the year took me to a works council meeting in Hungary. Oh, and the assignment that took place in an underground car park also deserves a special mention. And so does MCing at my friends’ 10-year wedding anniversary, which was so much fun and a true honour. Finally, my website got a facelift in May, which was long overdue, but worth the wait!
I will take a break and be back in the new year on January 8, 2024. Thank you for your support and the great work you did this past year.
