RSI still in demand

If you thought we would go back to living in a pre-COVID-like world, you were wrong. A few things have changed permanently, and people are still spending more time at home and less time in offices thanks to flexwork and remote working options. Managing from a distance and video conferencing have long been the rule rather than the exception.

Luckily, we have expanded and refined our interpreting services since the pandemic, because Remote Simultaneous Interpreting (RSI) is still in demand. When on-site interpreting is not wanted or possible, the most reliable and, when it comes to data protection, safest solution are remote interpreting hubs equipped with conference level hardware and software.

At the end of 2022, an interpreting hub opened in my area, in The Science Park Gelsenkirchen, operated by doltec Rhein-Ruhr GmbH. Why is this important? For assignments like this, for example: This February, we translated an hours-long kick-off event for an international company with over 3,000 multilingual participants at 14 locations. This was possible, because the event was streamed from a studio and connected to the hub via Internet. Further information can be found in the article from The Science Park Gelsenkirchen (available in German only).
